Currently working on a bunch...

Go To Post     Currently working on a bunch of rings (yesterday was wax carving)...I think the secret to not getting stuck in creative work is to have several projects in process at a time. 🤍 Anyway, I haven’t done this in awhile so I thought maybe it’s a fun time to do a little light-hearted 5 things about me.▫️ . 5 things you may not know about me (Nicole 👋, I’m the designer, goldsmith, and all the things-er around here✨):▫️ . 1) I played violin for over 10 years and I haven’t played in years (at one point I was pretty good so the thought of how much I let that slip away stresses me out, but then I remember all the awesome things I’ve learned and done since then and I’m thankful for the violin because it taught me discipline and perseverance...I took private lessons and babysat for my violin teacher & every year i memorized and performed pieces in front of a judge panel for a scholarship competition (despite massive social anxiety) just so I could afford to keep doing it). If you truly love something, you’ll find a way to do it. ▫️ . 2) I have a bachelors degree in fine arts (I went to school for visual communications and typography was my favorite). I did work as a graphic designer but left my job after a serious spine surgery...a very painful blessing in disguise (the surgery was not a blessing, but the shift in circumstances in my life was). Sometimes you don’t know a hard time was actually a blessing until years later.🌹▫️ . 3) This is random...I once made a typographic piece in my own hair and another large embroidery of stitched words and notes that was exhibited when my husband and I lived in Chicago.▫️ . 4) my favorite season is Autumn! Anyone else? Also, yes I do like pumpkin spice things...sorry if you don’t, ya weirdo! Jk love ya if you don’t 💛l🍂☕️▫️ . 5) I grew up in the Everglades of Florida and yes alligators🐊 , bears, poisonous snakes🐍, and panthers...they were all around. I loved running through the woods and building “forts” out of palmetto fronds. I am thanking God now that nothing ate me back then because I was pretty carefree, at times😂▫️ .
