"The Garden": high-grade Royston, sterling silver & 14K gold statement necklace (one-of-a-kind)

  • Handmade, one-of-a-kind sterling silver statement pendant
  • This pendant is truly a one-of-a-kind artwork and has been hand-fabricated in the Knot & Splice studio by the artist. The large "flower" is a natural cast element—lost cast in sterling silver from a living succulent plant. The golden spheres are recycled 14K yellow gold (the back of the piece has a small cut-out of 14K gold noting the 14K gold purity).
  • This piece hangs from a handmade, stamped bail on an approx. 20" long sterling silver high quality chain (with hand-forged clasp/hook made by the artist; this substantial necklace is slightly longer with the added clasp measurements)
  • handcut/polished larger stone is bezel-set in sterling silver: high-grade Royston turquoise (a mine located in Nevada, USA):
    • "Royston Turquoise comes from the Royston mining district located near Tonapah, Nevada. 'Royston Turquoise,' originally consisted of four old Turquoise claims: Bunker Hill, Easter Blue, Oscar Wehrend, and Royal Blue. Lynn Otteson moved to Tonopah to mine Royston Turquoise in 1958 and the family have been Turquoise Minors since. Royston Turquoise in known world wide for having a wide range of Turquoise colors from a beautiful soft blue to emerald greens. The color of Royston Turquoise often runs together in the same rock which creates some of the most spectacular Turquoise stones on earth. The Royston Mine is one of the last American mines in operation today.Today the Royston Turquoise mining district is primarily controlled by the Otteson family. Dean and Danny Otteson, (brothers) mine what is now known as Royston Turquoise. Once the Turquoise is out of the ground, it is processed, sorted for quality and carefully allocated to the proper artists for Turquoise Jewelry to be made, so that Royston Turquoise is synonymous with quality."   • the back of the pendant is stamped "NM" (signature for Nicole Melton) and ".925" for sterling silver; 14K is stamped on a small rectangle of solid 14K yellow gold
  • Care: sterling silver will gain natural patina over time when left unworn (unwanted oxidization can be removed with a polishing cloth—please see our FAQ/Policies page for care instructions), but we recommend you store this piece in a sealed plastic bag and inside a jewelry box to preserve the look of the piece
