Natural precious Australian opal: natural opal from a vintage collection. This opal was mined in Australia and has flashes of white, pink, orange, yellow, green, and purple. Dim and focused lighting show off the flashes the best—but truly it's so beautiful in hand. Did you know that opal is the only gemstone that can display the full spectrum of colors of the rainbow? This opal features several favorites! The flashy effect in opals is due to light refraction. Australia is known for some of the strictest mining rules in the world. The majority of Australian opals are hand mined (and we hear it's tough work!).

Opal care: please take great care with rings with softer natural stones like opal and turquoise. Please remove your jewelry in any situation where the prongs may catch and avoid hitting the stone. Opals are delicate and should be treated as such (exposure to water, lotions, creams, cleansers, and hair products should be avoided completely). Your handmade jewelry will last if you take care of it. Please see more detailed care instructions on our FAQ page.
